Shared an experience of hearing an excited child exclaim “I can finally read” as he entered school. Supporting 20 minutes a night is so valuable. It can be really hard to come to school and it is amazing to see the resilience of the kids.

Mr. Robins is mindful of how much our school will be impacted with the district changes next fall i.e. boundary changes, loss of sixth grade in our school, loss of DLI in our school, and a middle school next door. Be patient with changes but also feel free to reach out with any concerns regarding changes next fall.
The AR reading program will be up and running soon. Have your children pay attention and it should be within a week or so.
- Service Club - Mr. Mallory
Our students have committed to 500 hours of service this year! Yesterday, September 11; we held our first service project. The students signed Thank You cards to Officer Eric Estrada’s mother who lives in our community.The cards will be delivered this weekend. The students also picked up trash and pulled weeds on the school grounds.
October 1 @6:00pm Anxiety Awareness- Will be held in the gym. This will also be the first night of parent teacher conferences. Please come! It will be for all students and parents.

We are mindful of the overall safety for our students. The school is doing everything to ensure that if there is an emergency, the students are safe and protected at all times.
We have filled all of the needed math mentors for our school. There are six in total who are helping in the classrooms throughout the school. Thank you math mentors!
- Teacher Representative - Brian Heinsohn Halloween is coming up. Please refer to the school district dress code. Please do not allow students to bring anything that looks like a weapon with their costume that day. No masks allowed at school. The Halloween parade will be Friday October 31 at 9:10am. We will start with the kindergarten classes and proceed with each additional grade every ~10 minutes. It may take some grades longer than 10 or a little less. The children will walk around the circle driveway and then return to class once they have finished their loop. Parents are welcome and encouraged to watch their children during the parade.
- Kindness Committee - Matt Mallory
November 13th is World kindness day. Service club will be held that morning before school. All students are invited to help.
Kindness committee is going great! Thank you for the help and support for it.
Anxiety awareness event was a success. Mr. Mallory held the event October 1, 2025. He does not diagnose anxiety, but brings awareness to the fact that we all have felt anxiety from time to time. There are tools to cope with it.
Thanksgiving break will begin November 26-28, no school will be held.
- Reflections - Heather Holmes
There were 63 entries from our school. Judging for the reflections contest will be complete by November 2, 3025. Awards will be held on November 19, 3025 at 6:00pm. It will be held in the gym that evening.
- Spirit wear - Lauren Pace
This year spirit wear was more simplified. We did not have samples to look at. Therefore the cost was more affordable and the school did not lose money on the swag. Candace Anderson was the new contact that Lauren Pace worked with this year for the merchandise.
- Safety Week Oct 27th-31st - Lauren Pace and Betsey Stromberg
We need volunteers Monday October 27th during lunch for the fire trucks. We also need help Thursday October 30th in afternoon for the Gaga pit. Reach out to Lauren or Betsy.
- Halloween class activities Oct. 31st 1:20-2:20
11. Halloween parade - Start with Kindergarten and go up. The parade will start at 9:10am that morning. Parents come watch their children in the front driveway of the school.

McDonald’s will be our first event in November. We are looking into a final date for that.
- Literacy Event - Emili Larsen
We will begin our first literacy event for this school year starting November 3rd. Each student will come home with a bingo card to work on during the month of November. When bingo cards are finished, they can be returned to Angela Sorensen. The students will have a “return your bingo card party” on November 25, 2025. It will be in the library before school. Students are welcome to get a donut with the librarian before school. Parents do not need to come to this event. Students may ride the bus and be dropped off as usual.
There will also be an incentive to participate because there will be raffle prizes. There will be 100 different types of raffles for those who participate. Be sure to have your student turn in the bingo card that morning. Raffle winners will be announced that afternoon over the intercom. Students will choose their raffle prizes in the office the last thirty minutes of school on November 25th.
Be sure to read and document it! (Angela will have extra bingo cards if your student loses it.) You may turn it in early if you will be out of town for the holiday. Or you may submit digitally as well through email.

Thursday November 13th was National Kindness Day. The sixth graders helped with sidewalk chalk at the front of the school. The students wrote messages of kindness all around the front of the school . The students also wrote messages of kindness for their teachers and cafeteria workers. (Paper feather notes for teachers and posted at their doors. Fall paper leaves for the cafeteria workers.)
- Book Fair and AR - Nicole Singleton The book fair will be November 17-20, 2025. The book fair will not be accepting cash. Card and Apple Pay only. The book fair brand is Story Book Cover. Mrs Singleton is also going “Brag Tags” as a reward each month for students who have met their goals for AR.

As far as the boundary changes are concerned, a committee from the school district was established. Mr Robins was not a part of it and when changes concerning boundaries change, it is beyond his control and he gets the information at the same time we are notified. Boundaries needed to be adjusted to accommodate the incoming kindergarten grade as to keep classroom sizes manageable.

Thank you for all of the support and help. The DLI lottery has been finalized as of January 9, 2026.
- Service Club - Mr. Mallory
Mr. Mallory always loves ideas for service club. Thank you to all of the moms who helped serve hot cocoa and donuts last month.
- Teacher representative - Brian Heinsohn
Thank you for all the help during Holiday parties. Some parents volunteered for multiple class parties. Thank you to everyone who helped with acadience testing in December as well.
Next Acadience test will be April 28,2026. Look for more opportunities to volunteer as it gets closer.
- Kickback night - Jenni Theophilou and Kaylee Grange
We are currently waiting for a response for a couple of options. Updates should be coming soon.
- Holiday parties. How did it go?

- School Wide Literacy Event - Emili Larsen
Our next literacy event will begin March 2 and finish March 27th. We will be doing “Beat the Teach”. Mrs Singleton will present the reading tracker for students the last week of February. Student trackers can be turned into the library as well as to their teachers. Teachers will update their progress on Mondays and Thursdays. Students can check their teacher’s progress on those days. We will need volunteers to pass out prizes at the end of the event. Look for a google signup. (~15 volunteers needed)
- Walkathon sponsors - Kim Kikkert.
Plan to meet possibly the end of this month for more planning.
Shaylee Hendrickson, Stefani Willie, Dani Billings, Lauren Pace, Kaylee Grange, Sadie, Kim Kikkert, Jenni Theophilou are on the planning committee. Reach out to those listed above if you are interested in helping with the Walkathon.
We are in need of sponsors for the walkathon.
We are in need of more money donations from businesses rather than actual prizes.

- Spring Creek Elementary PTA-Kendall Welker
Kendall Welker will be meeting with Whitney Crossley the first week of February to determine if Spring Creek will use a PTO or PTA for the school year 2026-27.
- Our PTA has been given two round trip tickets from Southwest Airlines. If you are interested in this giveback opportunity, be sure to sign up for the PTA. Everyone will be given a small reward for signing up. Someone will be lucky enough to receive the two round trip tickets.
